Mr. Milind Kaulgud started his career in 1987 as a Management Trainee with Exide Batteries. An active student during College, he developed a passion of working for people. He constantly came across Scholars and Management graduates who influenced him a lot. He had an inclination to make a career in HR as it was close to his heart. Tackling with the Human aspect of Human Resources and dealing with Human Beings has always been exciting for him.

For almost two years with P&O Nedlloyd he has ramped up operations and recruitments. Being able to recruit people with ability, dexterity and good communication skills in a record time has been his biggest achievement. He has streamlined the HR department and helped in the formulation and implementation of policies.

He firmly believes in trusting people, engaging smart people, giving them all the freedom to take initiative, empower them and work only for exceptions. HR he feels is being utilized in the right perspective in today's Corporate world. HR he says is the change agent; Earlier it was limited to time office and personnel functions and now there is a realization that HR Management can play a decisive role by strategizing policies, aligning with corporate objectives and driving the change.

In Pune for the last 8-10 years, he likes Pune for its Cosmopolitan approach. He acknowledges that Pune is growing multi-folds; be it infrastructure, population, corporate world or business establishments. Pune he says , has accepted people from all walks of life, there has been a tremendous change in its culture more because of the education movement which has provided the right blend of manpower with a strong footing .It is for this reason that Pune has a universal acceptance.

A strong affinity and affection for Pune he indeed loves the city but hates the traffic and the recent power cuts.

MESSAGE FOR UPCOMING HR PROFESSIONALS:-
Develop business acumen in order to be successful in your profession. With mere organisational behaviour and psychology, HR initiative won't add value if they cannot be seen in harmony with the business results. One can lead only by examples and not by preaching.
