Formerly a finance executive, currently working under the portfolio of General Manager-Human Resource Management, Finance and Company Secretary in Sulzer; Mr. Mallik Strongly believes that every individual has some strengths and bringing those to the fore is facilitated by HR.

Inherent qualities of interacting and mingling with people and believing in people, he enjoys Human Resource Management. A thorough Finance executive; Mr. Mallik took the challenge of proceeding with HR. He likes to be a mentor and a guide thus handling the human aspect of HR efficiently. He strongly emphasizes on training and development blending it with an individuals'capabilities and providing an asset to the organization.

In the past two years with Sulzer, he has ensured implementation of various employee satisfaction surveys, understanding the training needs of the individuals and recognizing their abilities in various competencies. 

He believes in "Hire for attitude and train for skills." He has helped in bringing people from all departments together by developing a congenial work environment and introducing value system by making people to open-up and speak-out. He comprehends the need for change with time, adoption of new procedures and techniques and the generation gap.

He feels that HR is being utilized in the right perspective in todays' Corporate environment. There is a shift in the focus from personnel to people management; recruitments traditionally meant purchasing and now mean marketing.

Hailing from Madras and educated partly in Mumbai; he loves New Delhi, for the place is vibrant and has a lot to offer. Almost three years in Pune, he feels that there has been more development towards Information Technology and Service industry and less growth in the engineering sector.

He likes the culture of Pune and also its weather. He feels that Pune is a safe city with a minimum crime rate. He finds Puneites to be less aggressive, less mobile, contented and considers Pune a rather introvert city with people not socializing much.

Despite a few dislikes, he loves Pune and would'nt mind settling down here. He proudly says that "he is on the path of becoming a Puneri".
