BE Mechanical;Madras University and MBA; IIM-Ahmedabad, Mr. Bala Narayan started his carreer with BlueStar Ltd. in 1974 as General Manager, Corporate Planning;Manager Projects and Executive Assistant.Having worked across the globe including Asia-Pacific, Africa, North-America and Europe, he is an internationally mobile senior executive with over 26 years of experience with blue-chip corporations.

Human resources practice leader,with a record of achievements in leading and managing the function at various green-field sites.Business start-up experience with extensive cross-functional and general management expertise,he has a proven track record of developing people and systems in varied cultural environments including emerging markets.

Basically a hardcore financial planning and corporate affairs executive,he recognised a flair for HR while working in Japan with Yokogawa India Ltd. as General Manager-Corporate services and HR.

Highly people-friendly and people-centric,he likes HR as a profession and considers it a great function to work for since its all about people and adding value to people.He ardently beleives in empowering and sharing,emphasising relevance of information and ensuring flow of information through conceptual models thus helping in the organisation development function.

He has helped in the corporate developments by establishing HR-presence,supporting business transformation,making it a proactive function and bringing radical changes in people management culture and environment.

He considers HR as a significant function in the service industry be it identifying good talent or training and development.He reiterates a shift in focus from personnel function to HR function.

Two years old in Pune,he appreciates greenary and open spaces of Pune. He feels Pune is small,inward-looking and introvert.Developments are rather slow-paced and the city lacks the flair of being a big city.
