SHRI. SUDHIR PHADKE

Sudhir Phadke is a sitar player from Pune, with over one decade's experience on the concert stage. A disciple of shrimati Annapoorna Devi of Senia - Allauddin Gharana, Sudhir is regarded by many as one among India's leading instrumentalists.


Music runs in Sudhir's blood. His grandfather a disciple of Pandit Digamber Paluskar, gave Sudhir his early instruction in the form of play. His father, an eminent sitarist, teacher and profic composer trained in both the Gwalior - Paluskar and Senia - Allauddin styles, provided Sudhir with a thorough foundation in the musical arts.

Born in 1962, sudhir at age 16 years had the good fortune of being accepted as a student by an exceptionally great musician and teacher.Shrimati Annpoorna Devi is an authority in our times of the 400 years old Senia tradition. Her father Ustad Allauddin Khan was a towering figure of 20th Century Indian music whose students are world famous. Sudhir has been trained to follow in the footsteps of some legendary musicians of the past and present.
