KAMARANGA
'Kamaranga' is the first book in a series of books dedicated by Dr. Leena Mohadikar to the
cause of sex education. 'Kamaranga' signifies the diverse colours of sex, the
multidimensional aspect of sex. The book is written in a story form with each story based
on real life problems faced by humans.
Starting with the scope of the concept of human sexuality the book very effectively
highllights the potential problems that arise out of ignorance of sex in the right
fashion. Divided into 2 parts, one each concerning the problems, myths and misconceptions
of unmarried people & the other for married couples.
Masturbation, small penis complex, impotency, homosexuality, prostitution & quacks
form the subject matter of the first part, whereas the next section is devoted to
discussing more involved issues like difference between sexual desires of a man and a
woman, disatisfaction of a wife, potential misunderstandings between a couple, premature
ejaculation, etc. that might lead to a divorce.
A must for newly weds as well as for those who are on the door step of a marital life.
KAMAVISHWA AVIVAHITANCHE'
Continuing with the story form of narration, the author effectively blends theoretical
concepts with real life problems - their genesis, the effects of such problems on the life
of a human, and attempts effectively to solve these.
The book cites that lack of sex education, misconceptions about masturbation, frequent
penile erection, power of penis, etc. are behind such problems. Aspects such as
exhibitionism, blackmail, premarital sex & frustration, suicidal cases, sexual abuse
by family members, sexually transmitted diseases, rape etc. are dealt with at length. The
author advises a thorough medical exam before tying the marital knot.
'KAMVISHWA NAVVIVAHITANCHE'
Targeted at the newly weds the book traces the rootcause of many sexual problems between a
couple to the lack of communication before marriage and the lingering doubts thereafter.
Due to ignorance, myths, at times the honeymoon itself may throw up many problems.
The author narrates various problems related to intercourse, the inferiority complex of
the husband, shyness of wife, superiority complex of the husband, etc.
The apparent problem at times turns out to be symptom of some concealed problem. The
author narrates incidences of a husband who has some problems with himself but has a tiff
with the wife.
At times a mother-in-law who has problems with her sexual life has an ongoing feud with
her daughter-in-law; in such cases it highlights the responsibility of the husband. Other
aspects discussed are pregnancy, dowry, sexual desire of a woman, etc.
'KAMAVISHWA SANSARIKANCHE'
Sex being a taboo subject for all these years, the man inspite of several years of married
life lives with a fear about his potency and ability. People are totally unaware of the
'Orgasm' of a female which does not give them the core happiness of sexual life. In this
book the author has handled this delicate subject and has laid the facts threadbare for
the reader. By discussing various angles to infidelity the author has emphasized on the
need and importance of trust and binding between a couple. She has successfully conveyed
that if the couple has perfect undestanding the feelings are conveyed by the touch and
there is a clear line between lust and sex.
